This is real love.

There are many different types of love. But there is one type that stands out above the rest. Some people experience this type of love in a partner, a family member, or a friend. Some have never experienced it. This real love is unselfishness and hard to find in our world. It’s other’s focused, given freely, and can’t be earned. It’s called grace.

Grace is something that goes completely against the nature of humanity. While full of beauty and capable of great things, we have to work hard to love this way. It is not in our nature.

If grace isn’t a part of our nature, where does it come from? Where does love come from?

Grace and love comes from a place bigger than ourselves. It comes from God. You’re aware of the saying, “nobody’s perfect,” and it’s true. We are imperfect, and that imperfection makes us feel unworthy of love, especially from God.

But God

God is love, and does not let our imperfections get in the way of experiencing it, and knowing him. He decided to cover us in His grace through sacrificing someone equal in His perfection: His son, Jesus.

God sent his son Jesus to be with us and grow up as a human, living the only perfect life there has ever been. He showed us how to really love and then gave himself up in our place as a sacrifice to cover our imperfections. Because of Jesus, there is grace that covers our sins, and there is a love greater than we can ever know on earth.

When we put our trust in this, in who Jesus is, and what he did for us, we can know this love that is eternal, and it will transform us and our entire life.

If you would find it helpful, we would love to  journey with you in this exploration of God’s love for us.

Surrender to love-fueled leadership

Love is calling you to come to Him. Jesus told his followers this: “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Let me teach you. I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Love is calling you to come and surrender.

Go to God, tell God you’re in need of grace, and ask for forgiveness for the things you’ve done that are not consistent with His humble and gentle heart.

Tell Jesus that you want His love to be the thing that guides your life from this day forward.

He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.” – 2 Corinthians 5:15

A new life and a new love, that’s what Jesus is offering to you freely because He loves you.

You can pray right now

If this is the love you’ve been looking for, all you need is a simple prayer like this one.

“Jesus, my life isn’t what it should be and I thank you that it doesn’t have to be for me to come to you. I’m embracing your forgiveness and your promise to wash away my past. You have shown me great love by giving up your life on the cross as a payment for all the ways I haven’t followed you, now I want to give you my life out of love for you. Help me to turn from what my life has been about to what my life should be about. Even though I don’t deserve it, I trust your love for me, now help me live your love for others.”
